Learning

Our Pre School room is for children approaching three years old. As children grow in confidence, so does their curiosity for books, reading, writing and numbers.
We are proud to have good links within the community and with schools in the area. Our Pre School room prepares your child for an easier transition from nursery to school.

We believe at this age children learn best through play. Staff encourage the child’s development through individual planning so all children make steady progress towards the Early Learning Goals which are part of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.

The six areas of development are all extensively covered throughout the setting in a wide range of fun and enjoyable activities. The six areas are;
Messy Play
• Personal, Social and Emotional Development
• Communication, Language and Literacy
• Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy
• Knowledge and Understanding of the World
• Physical Development
• Creative Development

ComputingFrom an early age, children are encouraged to learn about other cultures and this ethos of diversity and equality is promoted throughout the day nursery. On a weekly basis we run a French club for the children in our Pre School room. The club is run by a qualified French teacher and gives the children an introduction to the concept of a wide range of spoken languages across the world.
